Also, they tend to have teaser prices, so by the time you get it through their shopping cart it won't be $499. Look at buying a laptop from the perspective of both your budget and what you need. Size, weight, battery life, display size, applications you plan on running (their minimum systems requirements), how you will connect to the Internet, etc. Once you have done your homework then look at a few models from the majors ...
